OUR TECHNOLOGY
The history of mankind is intertwined with the history of both human and animal fertility.
Yet even with modern biotechnology, engineering fertility in the lab remains elusive.
For the first time in history, we are on the verge of being able to safely create reproductive
cells in a laboratory setting, without any genome modification or editing.s
We are focused on achieving in vitro gametogenesis with the most direct approach:
direct induction of cellular meiosis in somatic cells.
We combine the best of cutting-edge genomics, cellular reprogramming techniques, and machine
learning in order to take advantage of the modern sequencing revolution, understand exactly
how cells work, and precisely modify them with targeted mRNA/CRISPR-Cas9 approaches.
The US agricultural industry spends >$6B each year on breeding more productive livestock.
Modern genetics tells us cows can be 10-100x more productive, but at current rates,
it will take a century to achieve those gains. Our technology will increase breeding rates
by 10-100x, lowering this time to a couple of years.
